Are you called to birth a medicine drum?

This immersive drum birthing day for small groups, individuals or couples is not simply about making a drum, it is a rebirth journey into relationship with your medicine drum, with spirit, and the heart beat of mother earth

We begin by gathering in a gentle, heart-opening drum circle. This is a space to arrive fully, to ground into the body and the heartbeat of mother earth.

From here, you will be invited to choose a crystal that resonates with you. This crystal will be lovingly embedded into the handle of your drum, becoming its heart stone and an anchor for intention, energy, and spirit. Trust your intuition as you select and the right one will call to you.

Next, you will move into the tactile and meaningful process of choosing your drum frame and hide.
Each piece carries its own story, its own energy. You’ll be guided to feel into what aligns with you and what wants to become your medicine drum.

You will then watch a step-by-step demonstration of drum making by Rachel Streeter, Founder of Sacred Stones and drum crafter of 8 years. This ensures you feel confident and supported before beginning your own creation.

Before you begin crafting, you’ll enjoy a nourishing vegan lunch, prepared to support and sustain you through the creative process. This is also a time to rest, connect, and reflect.

Then, after lunch with guidance and care, you will birth your drum, weaving intention into every step, lacing, stretching, and forming something truly personal and alive. As your drum takes shape, so too does your connection to it.

We will close the day with a deeply immersive shamanic drum journey, where you will meet the spirit of your drum. This is a sacred moment of introduction and activation, where the drum becomes more than an instrument; it becomes an ally, a voice, a companion on your path.

You will leave not only with a beautiful, handmade drum, beater and custom made drum bag, but with a deeper sense of connection to the medicine of the drum, to spirit, and to your own inner knowing.

All materials are provided and ethically sourced by using local Sussex deer that have sadly been killed on the road rather than hunted. Rachel then prepares the hides herself by fleshing and removing the hair which takes around one week per hide. She carries out a loving ceremony each time to prepare the deer hide for its next meaningful journey as a healing medicine drum, knowing all the while that this magnificent creature did not die in vain.

All you need to bring is yourself, your openness, and your intention.

GROUP FEE:

£450 pp for a 14-16" drum frame and standard crystal embedded cross handle

COUPLE FEE:
£550 pp for a 14-16" drum frame and standard crystal embedded cross handle.
If you feel drawn to experience this day with a friend or partner and have a date in mind please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you.

INDIVIDUAL FEE:
£600 for a 14-16" drum frame and standard crystal embedded cross handle
Different drum designs such as antler handles are possible for the individual drum birthing days at a slightly higher fee of £650.

INCLUDED IN THE FEE:

Fees include the animal hide, crystal or stone for your handle, drum hoop, a beautiful custom made drum bag, hand made beater and a delicious vegan lunch.

Please note, a £50 non refundable deposit is required to secure your place on these drum birthing days
