DRUM BIRTHING WORKSHOPS 2026:

This beautiful immersive drum birthing experience for up to 4 people is an opportunity to fully align with your very own medicine drum, made with ethically sources local deer hide, prepared by Rachel.
Owning your own shamanic drum if powerful, but birthing your own bring a whole new level of connection to spirit, the alliance to your drum and to your own spiritual path.

Preparing the hides
Rachel fleshes and prepares all the hides herself which is a week long process before the drum can be birthed.
She is passionate about the welfare of animals and only uses local deer that have sadly been killed on the road rather than hunted.
She blesses each hide as part of a gratitude ceremony for its continued journey and offering as a sacred medicine drum used for healing and spiritual practice. You can see more about the process in this video.
Private commissioned drums
In this video you can see a varied selection of drums Rachel has made for a variety of private orders which have different handles from the deer antler, fallen branches or the hide itself cut into long ribbon and formed into a cross. The centre of the cross can then be embedded with a crystal for added energy and beauty.
Rachel can make you your very own shaman drum or you can join her on a drum birthing workshop day where you will be guided to make your very own medicine drum.

HAND MADE DRUMS , BEATERS & CUSTOMISED DRUM BAGS
Rachel Streeter lives in an area of East Sussex that is full of wild deer and sadly many of them are killed on the roads each year.
She feels very strongly that the deer is a sacred animal that should never die in vain, which is why she only uses deer hides from accidental road death and not hunted, so she can honour the spirit of the animal by using their hide to craft these unique medicine drums.
Rachel's process of crafting the drums is a combination of self-taught training and guidance from spirit. She prefers to do all the fleshing, de-hairing and preparation herself rather than purchase hides from unknown sources so she can be sure of where the hide came from and how the animal had died.
Her unique style often includes a beautiful crystal or the use of deer antlers to form stunning handles. Each drum has been carefully prepared over a week-long process, cleansed with sage and blessed as part of a sacred gratitude ceremony.
The drum is then ready to become a medicine tool and personal guide for their owner, bringing healing, wisdom and transformation.
Customers must appreciate that each hide is unique in its own way so no drum will ever be identical, however Rachel will endeavour to match your chosen design with the greatest intention.
Different crystals can be used for the drum handles, so if you have one in mind or would like to use your own personal stone, please let Rachel know.
Once you have decided on your drum, email us and we will invoice you and aim to create your drum and post off to you within 4-6 weeks.
DRUM PRICES
Drum prices vary between £250 - £350 depending on size and design.
HAND MADE DRUM BEATERS
£20 if purchased on its own or free with a drum purchase or drum birthing workshop.
RATTLES
£30 - £35 all made from deer hide and can be tie dyed or plain, and with a crystal on the end if desired.
CUSTOM MADE DRUM BAGS
£35 for this beautiful padded drum bag with insulated fabric, easy to carry straps and hidden pouch for the drum beater. (This bag is free for participants when booking a drum birthing workshop).
